Apple Mac L2TP VPN Setup

You are here:
  1. Click the Apple icon in the top-left of your screen, and click “System Preferences”
  2. In System Preferences, click “Network”
  3. Administrative privileges will be required to add a VPN – locate the padlock icon in the bottom-left, click the padlock and enter your password
  4. Click the “+” icon
  5. In the “Interface” dropdown, select “VPN”
  6. In the “VPN Type” dropdown, select “L2TP over IPSec”
  7. Enter Service Name as “Vetta Online VPN”
  8. Select an L2TP server from our VPN Server List, and enter the domain name in the “Server Address” field
  9. Enter the VPN username sent to you in your welcome email as the “Account Name”
  10. Click “Authentication Settings” and enter details as below:
    Password: Your VPN password as per your welcome email
    Shared Secret: 12345678
    Click “OK”
  11. Click “Advanced”, under the “Session” title, tick the checkbox labelled “Send all traffic over VPN connection” and click “OK”
  12. Tick the checkbox labelled “Show VPN status in menu bar”
  13. Click “Apply”
  14. You can now connect to your VPN by clicking “Connect” – at any time, you can disconnect by clicking the VPN status in the top menu bar
